Consultation:
A consultation with your dentist must precede the beginning of the Invisalign procedure. While Invisalign is versatile, not every orthodontic problem may allow its application.
Treatment Planning:
Following the selection of Invisalign, your dentist will take x-rays, photographs, and impressions of your teeth. These records are sent to Invisalign with instructions concerning desired tooth movements. A 3D model of your teeth is created in order to plan the treatment.
Waiting for Your Aligners:
After the treatment plan is verified, your aligners will take about a month to reach your dentist’s office.
Wearing Your Aligners:
Once your aligners have been fabricated and delivered, you will return to the dentist, who will dispense them for you. There are many different aligners, each serving a different purpose and used at a different time. These aligners are changed every two weeks to gradually reposition the teeth.
Smile Refinement:
Once you have worn the last aligner, your dentist will determine if additional changes are necessary. It is very common for a few teeth to need refinement trays ordered at no additional cost. When Invisalign is complete, retainers are worn to maintain your new smile.
